Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 – the world’s first 4K ,240 Hz game monitor

Samsung Electronics announced the launch of global sales of the Odyssey 2022 line of gaming monitors, which is represented by three models – G85NB, G75NB and G40B. The most interesting among them is probably the G85NB model, which the manufacturer calls the first in the world gaming monitors with 4K performance and 240 Hz support. It is available in a single size – with a 32-inch screen.

Odyssey Neo G8 (G85NB)

The Odyssey Neo G8 was first announced at last week’s CES 2022, along with the 32-inch Smart Monitor M8 for home entertainment and the professional High Resolution Monitor S8. This is the compact version of the 49-inch gaming enabled Odyssey G9, which was released by the end of 2021 at a recommended price of UAH 59,999. The new Odyssey Neo G8 features a 32-inch Quantum Mini LED panel with a total capacity of 3840×2160 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz.

In terms of parameters, the 32-inch Odyssey Neo G8 is in no way inferior to the older 49-inch version: current brightness reaches 2000 nits, response time is 1 ms (G2G), and a static contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro adaptive framing support and HDMI 2.1 with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) also remain in place. The curvature radius is analogous to 1000 mm.

Design has also remained unchanged: Odyssey Neo G8 is painted in glossy white color with dark frames and equipped with an adjustable stand. The back panel features RGB-lighting Core Lighting with CoreSync function.

Odyssey Neo G7 (G75NB).

The Odyssey Neo G7 (G75NB) is located at the bottom of the table, a 32-inch 4K (3840×2160) monitor with a VA 1000R panel, 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time (GtG), which ensures excellent gaming performance.

The Odyssey Neo G7 has also taken on most of the features of the Odyssey Neo G8 including AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Quantum Mini LED technology and Quantum HDR 2000 with 2000 nits of instantaneous brilliance and a static 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

A powerful gaming performance is enhanced by the CoreSync button on the back of the monitor.

Odyssey G4 (G40B).

G40B is the basic and most affordable model of the new line of gaming monitors Samsung Odyssey 2022. It is offered in two screen sizes – 25 and 27 inches. It uses an IPS panel with wide viewing angle and HDR10 support. Other key characteristics: performance – Full HD (1920 x 1080), update frequency – 240 Hz, response time – 1 ms (GtG). Technology is also supported by NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

Samsung Odyssey G85NB, G75NB and G40B gaming monitors will be on sale worldwide in June, and the exact release schedule depends on the region. Price details are not available yet.
