Sony TV and PlayStation VR2 VR Helmet
The world’s first 4K quantum dot OLED TV. Sony has unveiled the Bravia XR A95K, a TV that combines the advantages of OLED and quantum dot (QD) displays. With OLED, the model has enhanced contrast, while QD gives enhanced color gamut and improved brightness.
Bravia XR A95K is based on the smart Cognitive Processor XR, which analyzes the image and improves it depending on how a person perceives the picture.
The device also supports automatic HDR calibration in PlayStation 5 and dynamic refresh rate up to 120 Hz.
The Bravia XR A95K comes in two versions, 55 and 65 inches. The TVs will go on sale in 2022, the price is not yet known.
The second generation of the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality helmet. The headset will get an OLED display with a resolution of 2000 × 2040 per eye and a field of view of 110 degrees. The helmet supports HDR, 4K and a smooth frame rate of 90 or 120 Hz depending on the game.
The device also tracks the viewer’s gaze – this will reduce the required processing power, saving on drawing areas of the screen that the player is not looking at. The PSVR2 also supports haptic vibration in the new controllers.
Connecting your helmet to the console is much easier – you only need one USB-C cable. Four built-in cameras are responsible for tracking the movements of the user – instead of one external camera, like in the first generation.
